Dolls Are For Girls...
...That is, unless they're these dolls. Metallica dolls? Who would have thunk it? Well, now that I think about it, I guess it isn't that hard of a concept to wrap my mind around. I mean, hey, doesn't every little girl wants to fall asleep cuddled up next to a James Hetfield action figurine... I know I do. Actually, I'd much rather cuddle up next to the real thing, but until then, these will just have to do. As I said earlier, rock ain't just for the boys anymore, and apparently, dolls aren't just for the girls. Don't believe me? Check 'em out...
Bobbleheads! In the ever eloquent words of James Hetfield: "Yeah!"
This original set was only available through the Metallica Club, and they sold out fast (if you love Metallica, and I know you do, I really recomend you join the
Metallica Club. It's the only way to get your hands on goodies like these without having to pay big bank for them on E-bay).  How can something so mean-looking be so cute? Well, when your head is almost half the size of your body, how can you not be cute?
These dolls don't bobble. In fact their heads are rather firmly fixed to their bodies. They're not very cute either (well, except for James, but I'm just a tad biased). I found these dolls at that naughty novelty store in the mall -- you know the one I'm talking about. They capture the essence of the Black Album/Justice era quite nicely, I think.
Here's all four figurines together in action. I love Kirk's hair and James' classic "I-rule-the-world-all-bow-to-me" stance (go to any Metallica concert and you'll see what I mean).
A closer look at the four (well, actually three, since Lars is hiding somewhere in the background). Move over G.I. Joe, here comes Het and the boys!
The details on these dolls...er, um, I mean action figures, is really amazing. James and Jason's hair is really flying! James' guitar is adorned with the words "So What" at the bottom (it's a little hard to see in the pic, I know, but believe me, it's there), and Lars' drum set has the "TAMA" logo across the front. I think my favorite part of these dol...action figures is the fact that you can see each individual finger, especially on Kirk's hands. The creator of these figures even put rings on James' fingers.
Here's Kirk and Jason jamming away. Jason's hair is just amazing, and the expressions on their faces are really incredible. The fine details really make these figures appear life-like.
