| About the Author of this Website On September 19, 2004, Amberlee, the creator of this site was in an automobile accident which took her life. She was 23 years old, a bright student, an avid Metallica fan and a champion for the equal rights of women. Above all, she was a great friend, a loyal daughter, and a loving sister. She will be missed by all who knew her and were lucky enough to glimps the light that shown from her so brightly. Furthermore, this site will be maintained by friends and family of Amberlee in her memory. Amberlee "Amber" A. December 22, 1980 - September 19, 2004 Hello, my name is... sorry, I prefer to remain anonymous (for personal reasons). I’m female, of course, and I enjoy listening to Metallica’s music. I’m a student at a U.S. university on the west coast working toward a masters degree, and hopefully then on to a doctorate in my field of study (yes, even us geeks like Metallica -- I’m not a geek, really). I built this website because James Hetfield is my hero -- he probably shouldn’t be, but he is. The man has been through a lot -- being severely burned, rehab, being publicly criticized for just about everything -- and yet, he’s still on top, and he looks pretty damn sexy for a man that’s almost twice my age (now you can guess how old I am). I think what makes James Hetfield so attractive is his larger-than-life presence - if you’ve ever seen Metallica live, you know what I‘m talking about. He takes command, he is the leader, and he demands the attention of everybody in the room and gets it. What strikes me the most, though, is that James has such straight-out-of-the-box-raw sex appeal, and he doesn’t even seem to notice or care. He never seems vain -- he’s just James, Jaymz, Het, or whatever strange nickname he goes by on any particular day. He writes beautiful music -- poetry -- that has real meaning: anger, love, hate, anguish, lost causes, whatever he wants. The man has his demons, that’s for sure, but we all do, and James is the only one willing to put himself out on the line, make himself vulnerable, expose his open wounds, and sing about it. That’s why I love James. That’s why I love Metallica, because they’re not afraid to step out of the box and do something different. Not to sound like a complete and total girl, but James is the sexiest man on Earth fronting the loudest, hardest, greatest band that ever was and ever will be, and I trust they’ll be around forever, even if they‘re just lurking around in the shadows somewhere.
